Summer Lovin

The last day of school was today. A moment of silence please. . .

But at least we've got Sponge Bob Square Pants and a big couch.

Lots to Post

I've posted a lot lately, so sue me.

Yesterday was a busy and exciting day. In the past week we've had some crazy weather down here, Monday - Wednesday it was nasty hot, up to 108. Then Thursday thru today it's been cool, breezy, and rainy and only up to about 80. Here's some pictures of the kids playing in the rain yesterday after school.

So all Barbeque/Swim parties that usually happen Memorial Day weekend have needed to be reconfigured. Terry and I were putting meat on the BBQ Grill yesterday, in the rain, when all of a sudden it started to hail!! We called the kids out to see. I don't know if you can see the hail but they are the little white dots on the ground.

Needless to say, nobody swam. We were celebrating Lindsey's, Arnon's, Steve W's and Alana's birthdays. Here's pictures of Alana's cake.

Here's pictures of the grown up's cake. Lindsey made cheesecake which I guess wasn't fair because it was her birthday celebration and all, plus she made the Thai food dinner we all ate, but it was so good none of us put up too much of a fuss about her working too hard for her own birthday celebration.

Since we had Ellis and Pete in the same place and awake and relatively happy we took some pictures. Pete was on his way up from a nap and Ellis was on his way down.

Is there anything better than when mom lets you lick the bowl?

We're making a birthday cake for Alana,
there's a party today and her birthday is on Monday.

Plus Pete is cute.

Party Time

Yesterday we had a party! Aunt Jessi (who rocks!) helped Leah and Tessa to plan their first party. They got the idea on Sunday while we were over at her house after church so she helped them to make invitations and they told her all their party plans and schemes. There were to be games, treats, prizes, decorations, food, and everyone was to perform a trick. So Jessica took their ideas and got everything together and the party turned out great! The kids had lots of fun.

Cute Little Kids

What can I say? They are all cute and kinda strange.

But look at how big Pete is getting! Compared to the last
couch picture he is much bigger, he is quite long and tall.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day my wonderful family woke up early and made me breakfast in bed! They made me Pink Puffed Oven Chocolate Chip Pancake! It was delicious and I even got to eat some of it between sharing bites with everyone but Pete (but he got some later). The kids all presented me with the lovely gifts and cards they had made. It was great! I've got the best husband and children ever!

*Disclaimer - I look wonky because I was! I got only three hours of sleep the night before and for this I blame three people; Stephenie Meyer, Peter, and Myself. . . Stephenie because I was up late reading her new book "The Host" (which was good, obviously!), Peter because as soon as I was ready to put the book aside and settle down to sleep he told me he wanted to stay up for another three hours doing fussy baby things, and Myself for letting Myself get tricked by those tricky trickers!! I was so very sleepy on Sunday I had to go home after Sacrament Meeting and go to sleep (but only after I'd read the book more for about an hour - and guess who I blame that on?!).

Sweet Pete

Our sweet boy got sick last Friday and had a temperature, I didn't want to mess with it since he is just four weeks old so we got to go to the Emergency Room. His temperature just happened to be 100.4 which is the cut off, if it was 100.3 he would not have had to have a chest x-ray, catheter, blood draws, IV (which happened to go in his head), and spinal tap. It was a long unpleasant evening at the ER but Pete was quite stoic and handled it all very well. I think I cried more than he did. We had to be admitted and stay until all the culture results were in, 48 hours. So Pete and I spent the weekend at the hospital. His fever was gone by Saturday afternoon and he was left with a stuffy nose (which is difficult for a nursing baby) and that's it. The cultures all came back negative so we got to leave Monday morning. We are glad we went, better safe than sorry!

So I took some pictures last night of our sweet boy. I really like him a lot even though he keeps me up at night.
