Any Ideas?

I know, I know. I drew on the walls and furniture when I was a kid so I'm just reaping what I sowed. But I've sure reaped a lot of wall scrubbing. Each of our kids have gone thru the phase with the drawing on everything that is inappropriate. So I've got Pete scrubbing walls whenever he does his art. We're hiding all the writing instruments. But there are a lot of markers, pens, pencils, and crayons at our house. A lot. And you can be sure he will find the one that got left out. And I'm pretty sure he thinks cleaning up his mess is almost as fun as making it, so that's not a strong deterrent.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can cut short my karma?

This is him and his friend Axle. They both thought scrubbing the wall was super fun. Argh.

Check with Katie for ideas! ;-)
When Jake was Pete's age he very carefully wrote in permanent marker on every surface of our new green velvet couch and love seat. After that all writing implements were banned/kept in a gun safe until Justin entered High School...

Maybe he is just taking after you. How many times are you going to change your background? I liked the little chicks.

Oh, dear, I never ever said I hoped you would have a child just like you! It is just his creative juices flowing! Reinforce the positive behavior, help him find things he wants and likes to do. Building with blocks, bouncing balls, blowing bubbles.......no that would make a mess too! Good luck darling daughter, you will prevail, after all you are bigger!

Try giving him pencil/pen/writing instrument overload! Tell him it's drawing time-for a good chunk of the day-see what happens-maybe he'll get it out of his system...or maybe you have a budding artist who likes free expression and you'll 'deal' with it for years to come! Good luck ;)
