We stayed with Ryan's sister Kate and her hubby Kent and baby Afton. They were too wonderful, they spoiled us and let us stay in their master suite (there was room in there for 2 extra blow up beds that the kids slept on plus a playpen for Pete). They are lucky we left - we had some sweet digs!
We visited Ryan's brother Justin in his dorm at BYU, he is a new little freshman and having lots of fun. Kent is the one with the halo, I think it's because he is an angel :)Aunt Katie is a very talented ballerina and she gave the girls a lesson while we were up there. Kate teaches at a studio up the road from her house, her students are very lucky to have her.

On the way home we decided to stop at Zion's Canyon and do a little hike. It has always irked me a bit as we fly past the Grand Canyon, Zion's Canyon, Bryce Canyon, etc that we never stop to look, we're always in such a rush. But I'm so glad we planned for it and got to do it this time, it was beautiful and lots of fun too! So that is us at Weeping Rock, the trail was super short and easy and just perfect for a quick trip thru the park.
I love that picture! We stopped for lunch by a little stream and Pete was happy sitting in the backpack until Alana accidentally knocked him over right after this picture was taken and he got a face full of dirt. Poor kid. He cheered right up after he got cleaned off, he is a sweet boy.
I loved Zion's Canyon, it was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect little side trip. On the way out , on the road to Kanab, there is a mile long tunnel through the cliffs! It was awesome! I am, admittedly, very easy to entertain, but I thought it was super cool.
And here's a little peek at what the travelers are like on the road.

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your Labor day adventure! I agree with you about stopping at Zion. It is one of my very favorites (even over the Grand Canyon). We've been on that very hike, along with many others over the years. I love that it's so accessible -- you can just drive or bike into it! Your kids are hilarious and oh-so-typical. Ah, the memories...
What awesome pics and they're even smiling. My fav is Sweet Pete in the backpack.
What a lovely trip! Zion is so gorgeous.
I bet that won't be the last time Peter gets a face full of dirt courtesy of his siblings.
What a great little trip, I'm so jealous!
family road trips are the best! especially to utah. such a beautiful drive.
What a fun trip! I loved watching the two videos :) Such a sweet family:)
Nice! You posted the Nastiest pics of your fave sister in law. That is okay because it was very very very fun to see you. I love that picture of sweet Pete too.
So are you coming up for general conference?
We didn't even get honorable mention. Sad!
I hopped onto your blog from Audrey's . . . it was so fun to peek at your sweet family!! It just seems impossible that we both have kids as old as we were when we met---we had to be no more than 4! Oh my! You still make me giggle, Alli! Love ya!!
