A Stormy Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and Ryan ordered some interesting weather for me as a present. I've been being a baby lately about how hot it is outside and looking forward to a break from the 100+ heat we've been having since forever. So when it rained all yesterday I congratulated my sweetie for giving me such a lovely gray and drizzly day for my b-day. He came home early from work and took me to lunch and a movie and we had such a good time. He is dreamy.

Then as the kids came home from school and we got involved in after school gymnastics, homework, piano practice, book reading, chores, etc. The weather really got extra interesting.

We stood out on the porch and watched huge chunks of hail shoot out of the sky at very fast and deadly velocities. We were glad to be in a newly re-shingled and safe house. Peter was pretty nervous about the show, but we kept it light hearted and hopefully he isn't scarred for life. It was impressive.

After the hail let up and it started in to rain again we went out and looked at the hail drifts that collected in the corners.

It was super cool. Ryan was immediately called away to help his Dad locate a leak in the roof, and then he was off to help board up some windows of a family in our ward who had a bunch of windows busted out. I thought we didn't have any damage besides some beaten up plants but Jeffey pointed out a small broken window this morning. Oh well. Ryan can fix it, he is a genius.

I have to say a big Thank You to Arnon and Jessica for watching Peter for us while we were on our date, that was wonderful. And another big Thank You to Sweet Amanda for bringing us dinner last night - it was ever so yummy and I will probably eat the rest right now for lunch. I love you lots. You all are the most wonderfullest.

Who says turning 33 is boring?

I can't believe that I am first! Katie is always first! Great post, amazing storm, did you save any of the hail?

Holy cow, that is some serious hail! Bummer about the damage - that's no fun. Glad the storm didn't ruin your day.

You beat me! darn! Crazy hail. But it kind of fun when stuff like that happens. I am glad you had a great b-day. We sure so love you Alli. Afton even named one of her pipe cleaner spiders after you.

I bet you will always remember your 33rd b-day. How cool, I love storms. Although hail that big can cause some damage. Happy b-day!
